OMG jackie has taken a tumble into the canal on her bike right in from of all the canal boats, she is Ok but she hit her ankle and is limping just a little bit, honestly it was the funniest thing we have ever seen she was like a little drowned dog 🙂
TCT Glasgow unit day 1
Here we are at the unit in Glasgow some of the teenagers and family will be meeting Joe and we have some goody bags to give out before we set off on our 55 miles to Edinburgh where we will be passing the Falkirk wheel and then on to the TCT unit in Edinburgh to meet everyone.
The Yorkhill hill Teenage Cancer Trust unit will be closing in 2015 and moving to the new southern general hospital there is a west of Scotland appeal to fund the new unit which is currently standing at around 200k of the 500k target
We met Alistair Mcdonald who was riding from Glasgow to Edinburgh he was working for sustrans cycle routes and he directed us through Glasgow and on to Falkirk (see photo)
We will be updating this post with photos during the day
Big issue on little bus
You won’t believe it Chris’s bike fell off the bike trailer on the way to Glasgow Steve sue and SKitch had to take it to Halfords in Carlisle and get a new back wheel and tyre fitted they were really good and gave us a discount because we were doing it for TCT
Keep posts coming MCElderry is en route
On the bus without the fuss
Well those who are going on the bus are on it now, there are a few travelling in the support van and Joe is flying to Glasgow from london.
Quite a few anxious riders today but hey it’s all good we will all get there eventually. For those waiting for a photo of Shermie you will have to wait until he lands
The night before we set off for Glasgow
This is the night before the ride
The team is packing and bursting with pride
They set out their kit to put in their bag
The make a quick call to their mam or their dad
The nerves are set now ‘good grief can I do it’
To those who’ve not trained it’s too late you blew it
The feeling it starts in the pit of your tummy
Your starting to feel just a little bit funny
It’s such a long ride you say to self
But we’re all so lucky be in good health
Was that a small twinge in the back of my leg
You feel all the tweaks as you lay in your bed
Tomorrow will come without any fuss
And your bike and your bags you will load on the bus
The 300 miles on the bus you will travel
And the size of the task will begin to unravel
But before you think OMG woe is me
Remember! Scotland the brave is for TCT!
